Year 3

A warm welcome to Year 3.

In the Year 3 classroom you will find children engaged in their learning in a happy and encouraging learning environment, where they are guided to reach their full potential.

The children are provided with a wide and creative curriculum which meets the needs of all the children in the class. On the teaching team this year are Mr K Magee and Mrs A Lloyd.

Our Catholic Faith is very important to us and we strive to ensure that we live out our Mission Statement to the best of our ability every day. We participate in a class assembly each year. As well as this assembly, we also have the opportunity to join our local parishioners to celebrate mass in Holy Family Church at the beginning of each month. Our faith permeates all that we do in school both through our lessons and how we behave and respond to each other in our daily lives. Our altar is the focal point of our classroom which we continually update to reflect the Liturgical calendar throughout the year.

Mathematics will have a strong focus this year, with the emphasis on mental arithmetic and timetables, which will enhance the children’s daily learning. Physical education will also have a strong focus this year, with emphasis on team building and classroom bonds, which will ensure pupil cohesion. This year we are participating in numerous events and we will be regularly posting dates and event details on the school website.

During this year we will be learning a lot about our Class Saint, which is St Teresa and we look forward to sharing our class assembly and mass with you later in the year. We will also be taking part in school assemblies in December and Lent, we welcome all parents to attend these events.
