Year 2

Welcome to Year 2’s family.

The children in Year 2 are taught by Mrs Aldred and supported by Mrs Anderson and Mrs Doherty.

This year we will be working with your child to develop and support their wellbeing, spirituality and academic learning.  We offer an exciting and creative curriculum and encourage all our children to be the best they can be in every aspect of school life. We will be developing their confidence and independence so that they are able to access their learning in every way.

We will be learning about the life and vocation of our class saint St Josephine Bakhita, who experienced a difficult life as a child and teenager. In later life she was known for her smile and gentleness which she showed to everyone she met.

This year the children in Year 2 will be encouraged to demonstrate our Gospel Virtues and ‘to live, love and learn together’ at school, at home and in our local community. This year we will research our world and what they can do to make a difference by being global citizens caring for God’s creation and each other.
