Year 1 celebrated the feast day of St Francis of Assisi, our class saint.
We all prayed and reflected on his great love and respect for animals and our environment as he is the patron Saint of Ecology. We also thought about his devotion to helping the poor and vulnerable. We all want to follow his example by taking an active role in caring for others and God’s creation.
We started the day by joining in with Dan and Emily where we prayed and sang together celebrating St Francis
As a class we wrote our own version of his Canticle of Creation. We all had the opportunity to wear our home clothes and had a special playtime on the trim trail and shared chocolate animal biscuits together! It was so much fun celebrating together and remembering our special saint.
