Year 6 were fortunate to have a wonderful visit around St Chad’s Cathedral and an insight to the life of Saint Chad, himself.
The day began where they were given privileged access to the crypt – they learned about the architecture and how it survived severe bombing during WWII.
Afterwards, they were given a special guided tour around the main cathedral – children learned about the artwork and messages behind the stain glass windows and delved deeper into the relics of Saint Chad in Birmingham and Litchfield.
We ended the day by learning about the life of Archbishop Longley before finally celebrating Mass with Fr McGinley.
