Holy Family School welcomed Dan and Emily from Onelife Music to lead us in prayer and song in a beautiful retreat day called ‘We will go out as pilgrims of Hope.’
We gathered in prayer to begin our day thinking about the Jubilee Year and what we have done to be pilgrims of hope in school, at home and in our community. The children were able to share their wonderful answers and think about the importance of HOPE in our lives. We also reflected on the importance of HOPE in Advent too and lit the first candle on the Advent wreath.
Bishop Timothy made a surprise visit online with a message for us to ‘be joyful because you have hope.’
Throughout the day there were opportunities for the children to learn more about Hope, make crosses of HOPE to share, feet to draw around to symbolise walking with Jesus and to pray and sing.
As we gathered together for our closing prayer liturgy led by our eloquent liturgical leaders and talented signers, we lifted our hearts and minds to God through scripture and song as a school family knowing that God is with us and that he gives us hope now and always.
Dan and Emily led and inspired the children to continue being pilgrims of HOPE and to remember that together we can bring hope to our world.
Holy Family School was filled with HOPE, smiling faces and beautiful music throughout this special day.
