The children from Year 2 had a truly wonderful day at Oversley Farm.
Dressed in their wellingtons, old clothes and warm coats they walked the fields and discovered lots of animals living on the farm as well as the habitats for many wild animals too. The children fed the sheep, visited the hens and noisy cockerel and saw where the cows and bull live during the winter months. They learned about the foods produced by the farm and enjoyed being budding farmers for a day!
The children explored God’s wonderful creation, discovering how to care for animals and plants. They found moments of calm, joy, and wonder as they learned to be good stewards of our world. A highlight was baking bread and making butter using wheat and milk from the farm—what a fantastic hands-on way to understand where our food comes from!
A fabulous day of learning left everyone with a huge smile and muddy wellingtons!
