Year 4 had a wonderful trip to The Columban Fathers, where they spent the day exploring and appreciating the beauty of God’s creation.

Inspired by Pope Francis’ ‘Laudato Si’, the children reflected on how we can all play a part in looking after our world, showing a growing awareness of our responsibility to care for the Earth and all who share it. They used their observation skills to sketch outdoors and took part in a nature hunt, gathering materials to create collages that captured the wonder of the natural world.

Pond dipping was a highlight, as the children worked together to identify different pond creatures using classification keys, recognising the value of every living thing and our duty to protect creation for future generations.

Throughout the day, the children showed care for the environment, worked together as a community, and considered how their choices can impact others – especially those most affected by environmental damage. It was a thoughtful and inspiring day that brought together learning, creativity, and faith in action.
