Migrant Help visited Holy Family to tell us about their Christmas Shoebox Campaign.

We discussed refugees and asylum seekers, why they need our support, and took part in an activity where we acted out emotions for a partner to guess, helping us understand how it might feel to arrive in the UK without speaking English. This links closely to Catholic Social Teaching, especially the principles of Human Dignity and Solidarity, which call us to recognise every person as valued and to stand with those in need.

Our Liturgical Leaders will organise a collection of small gifts and essentials to support people seeking asylum this year, and once the shoeboxes are filled, we will send them to Migrant Help to be given to those who need them.
