Year 5 had a fantastic day on their ‘Laudato Si’ retreat at Oscott College, enjoying a peaceful and reflective experience centred on caring for creation.
Throughout the day, the children took part in a guided walk, nature-based activities, and moments of quiet reflection, deepening their understanding of the beauty and responsibility of God’s world. They also wrote thoughtful pledges, committing to practical ways they can live more sustainably.
This retreat strongly supports our Live Simply Award, encouraging pupils to live simply, sustainably, and in solidarity with others. It also reflects Catholic Social Teaching, particularly the call to care for creation, reminding us all of our duty to protect and cherish the Earth as stewards of God’s gifts.
