A Celebration of Unity and Community
Our recent celebration of Pentecost was a truly special occasion, bringing together our school, parish and wider community in a powerful expression of faith and unity. Children, staff and families from Holy Family Catholic Primary School joined with St Bernadette’s and our parish community to celebrate the birthday of the Church, united through the gift of the Holy Spirit.
The Mass was a joyful reflection of who we are as a community – rich in diversity, yet united in our shared faith. Through prayer, song and participation, we celebrated the many cultures and traditions that make up our school and parish, reminding us that each of us brings unique gifts that strengthen and enrich our community.
Following the celebration in church, the sense of togetherness continued as families and parishioners gathered in the school hall. It was wonderful to see members of our community coming together in such a welcoming and joyful atmosphere. In particular, it was heartwarming to reconnect with former parishioners and past pupils who once attended Holy Family, sharing memories and celebrating the continued life of our school and parish.
This celebration was a true reflection of our mission and values in action. It demonstrated how, by coming together, we live out our Catholic teaching—working for the common good, celebrating the dignity of every person, and building a strong, inclusive community rooted in love and faith.
We give thanks for such a meaningful and uplifting occasion, which reminded us all of the power of the Holy Spirit in bringing people together and guiding us in our journey of faith.
