We were delighted to welcome Severn Trent to school for an engaging assembly and workshop focused on the importance of water and caring for our environment.
The whole-school assembly brought topics such as the water cycle, rivers and our environment to life in an engaging and accessible way. The children learned more about where our water comes from, why it is such an important resource and why we all have a responsibility to use it wisely.
Year 4 then took part in a practical workshop exploring ways households can save water. The children considered how small changes to our everyday routines can make a difference, such as turning off taps, taking shorter showers and avoiding wasting water.
The children thoroughly enjoyed the sessions and were encouraged to think about how they can become responsible stewards of our precious water resources. This linked beautifully with our Catholic Social Teaching focus on care for creation and our responsibility to look after our common home.
