Our Year 5 and Year 6 children had a wonderful day in Stratford-upon-Avon, discovering more about the life and work of the famous playwright William Shakespeare.
Throughout the day, the children learned lots of new and interesting facts about Shakespeare, his life and the world in which he lived. They enjoyed exploring Stratford and developing their understanding of one of England’s most famous writers.
The highlight of the visit was seeing our Year 6 children take on the role of tour guides at Shakespeare’s home and gardens. They confidently shared their knowledge with visitors, giving presentations about Shakespeare and the places they had learned about. The children showed excellent communication skills, enthusiasm and confidence, and many of the visitors complimented them on their informative and engaging presentations.
Our Year 5 children also had the opportunity to visit the Year 6 guides and listen to their presentations. They were fantastic visitors, listening carefully and showing great interest in what the Year 6 children had to share.
The visit was a fantastic opportunity for our children to learn outside the classroom, develop their confidence and communication skills, and share their knowledge with others. We are incredibly proud of the way our Year 5 and Year 6 children represented Holy Family and made the most of this memorable learning experience.
