Year 5 enjoyed a special day celebrating the feast of Saint John Henry Newman, one of England’s most loved saints.

To mark the occasion, the children wore red, the colour associated with Saint John Henry Newman House, creating a wonderful sense of community and celebration throughout the day.

The children learned about the life of Saint John Henry Newman and discovered how he devoted his life to God through prayer, learning and service to others. They explored his journey of faith, his commitment to following God’s call, and the values he showed through his courage, honesty and perseverance. The pupils reflected on how they can follow his example by making good choices, showing kindness and always striving to do their best. To end the celebrations, the children enjoyed a small class celebration together.

It was a joyful opportunity to share in the feast day and recognise the importance of Saint John Henry Newman’s legacy within our school community. The day was a meaningful reminder of the virtues of faith, wisdom and service that Saint John Henry Newman embodied, inspiring Year 5 to live out these values in their own lives.
