Over the past five weeks, our Year 6 children have taken part in a series of exciting Climate Educational workshops. The sessions have helped the children deepen their understanding of climate change and explore the positive actions they can take to protect our planet.

Through engaging activities and discussions, the children have investigated the impact of travel, food choices and the things we buy and use on our carbon footprint. They have explored practical ways to reduce emissions, both at school and at home, recognising that even small changes can make a big difference when we work together.

Our learning links closely to Pope Francis’ encyclical Laudato Si’, which reminds us of our responsibility to care for our common home. We believe that the Earth is a precious gift from God, and we are called to be responsible stewards of His creation. This means respecting the natural world, protecting its resources and considering how our choices affect others, particularly future generations.

The workshops have encouraged our children to move beyond understanding the challenges of climate change and consider how they can be part of the solution. By making thoughtful choices, reducing waste and inspiring their families to take action, our Year 6 pupils are discovering that everyone has a role to play in caring for creation.

A huge thank you to Vaari for inspiring our children and helping them to recognise that we all have the power to make a difference!

As we continue our journey towards living more sustainably, we know our Year 6 children will put their learning into action and live out the message of Laudato Si’: caring for our common home is a responsibility we all share.
